Our passion is helping to build healthy livable communities, creating a better quality of life now and in the future. GreenPrint Solutions is an environmental planning consulting business specializing in sustainable development strategies.

Founder and planner Laura DeYoung started GreenPrint Solutions after more than twelve years of success as an environmental planning consultant where she gained a reputation in environmental, agricultural, and cultural heritage preservation while helping communities pursue sustainable economic development. Laura began her career in educational media at The University of Akron while pursuing a masters in business, specializing in marketing for development, and a doctoral programming in planning, specializing in ecotourism. Laura also has an undergraduate from Denison University and an international baccelaute from Marymount in Kingston-upon-Thames. Our Green Building Consultant Heather Walters, LEED© AP BD&C has more than a decade of experience on wide variety of LEED© Certified and other green building projects. She has a BS in Environmental Design and a Bachelors of Architecture from Ball State University and specializes in helping clients balance environmental goals with budgetary reality.

Our designer Scott Mercer has over 20 years of experience in architectural and landscape design and project development including international projects. He has a BS in Architectural Design from Bowling Green State University and specializes in reducing environmental impact of facilities.

Our ecologist Jay Abercrombie assists clients in avoiding or mitigating environmental damage to aquatic resources, especially wetlands, streams, and lakes. He has managed many major projects for transportation corridors, community preservation plans, and rare and threatened species protection, with particular emphasis on the Great Lakes watershed. He has as BS in Biology from The University of Akron and a PhD in Entomology from Cornell University. Our agricultural liaison Aaron Lee Smith brings over thirty years of farming and leadership in organizations like the Farm Bureau. When agricultural open space dedications, transitional urban garden land banks, and CAUV for potential development areas are suitable for projects, he designs and implements the agricultural activity. As a shepherd, he has served as an American delegate to the World Sheep & Wool Congress and has been part of a joint trade mission for the Ohio Department of Agriculture to Canada. Aaron oversees leasing of sheep labour to produce well-manicured lawns and quality free-range local meat on urban and suburban lands.

Alan C. Weinstein, Inc.

Professor Alan Weinstein, the principal of Alan C. Weinstein, Inc., holds a joint faculty appointment at Cleveland State University’s Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs, and also serves as Director of the Colleges' Law & Public Policy Program. He has over 30 years of experience in practice as a planner, attorney, consultant, and expert witness in settings ranging from research design and project management to assisting attorneys in state and federal court litigation at both the trial and appellate levels.
